The textile industry is one of the most polluting on the planet and what circular fashion proposes is to reduce this negative impact with recycling and reuse practices.
We can define circular fashion as one in which waste and pollution are removed from the equation, and products and raw materials that continue to be used for as long as possible, also through reuse and recycling, and where an attempt is made to regenerate natural resources.
The premise is to keep products in circulation for as long as possible by implementing the concept of the three Rs: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.
Garments remain active as long as they have a useful life. Thus, when they can no longer be used, they can return to the environment without contaminating it.
It also promotes the use of sustainable materials without causing harm to diverse ecosystems with five key factors:
- Materials that can be reused
- Renewable energy
- Administration of water resources
- Social justice
- Carbon management
